Maharashtra EV policy 2021

The Maharashtra EV policy 2021 was announced by the state government to make Maharashtra the top producer of battery-powered electricity vehicle in the country. An outlay of Rs.930 crore was allocated for the implementation of the policy until March 31, 2025. The new policy is the updated version of the EV policy that was announced in the year 2018.
Under new policy, the EVs will be exempted from road tax and registration charges. The objective is to ensure that 10 per cent of all vehicle registrations are EVs by the year 2025. The policy also aims to convert 15 per cent of the MSRTC fleet into EVs by the deadline.
