Whitetail Clean Energy project

Whitetail Clean Energy Project seeks to set up the UK?s first power station with net zero emissions. It is estimated to create up to 2,000 jobs during the construction and 200 during the operation. It will produce around 300 megawatts of electricity per hour and will be operationalised in 2025.
The power plant will capture and store carbon emission offshore, under the North Sea. It will use a process which combusts natural gas with oxygen rather than air and uses carbon dioxide in a fluid state instead of steam to power turbines. The UK government has invested 6 million pounds for this project since 2012.
