Maharashtra to launch ‘MahaSharad’ Platform

The Department of Social Justice, Maharashtra is all set to launch its ambitious “MahaSharad” platform.

Highlights

  • Those in need can registering on the portal from December 12, 2020.
  • This is the first such initiative in the state.
  • This will bring together the needy disabled people and social groups who want to help them.
  • The scheme is being launched on the occasion of 80th birthday of NCP chief Sharad Pawar.

MahaSharad platform

  • This platform will be used to launch a flagship scheme for the distribution of assistive devices.
  • These assistive devices are meant for and will be distributed to lakhs of persons with disabilities.
  • The platform will be available on Play Store by March 2021.
  • The MahaSharad platform is also called as the “Maharashtra System for Health and Rehabilitation Assistance”.
  • It has been created to provide various devices to persons with disabilities free of cost.
  • The devices would be provided through the Commissionerate for persons with Disability.

These Modern equipment and devices help divyang to lead life like normal individuals. Many people,  organizations, private companies and industrialists seeks to provide such equipment for divyang. The MahaSharad platform will help these donors to meet needy divyang.
