?Medicine from the Sky? Program

Telangana government is set to launch unique initiative called ?Medicine from the Sky? program to deliver medicines and COVID-19 vaccines through drones. The project involves undertaking an experimental flight of Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone for the delivery of vaccines. Regulatory approval from Civil Aviation Ministry was obtained to implement this project.
The initiative will be implemented by the Emerging Technologies Wing of the Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Department, Government of Telangana in partnership with the World Economic Forum, NITI Aayog and HealthNet Global (Apollo Hospitals). It will be launched on September 11.
