Mumbai Climate Action Plan

The Mumbai Climate Action Plan, which is being prepared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, aims to address the challenges posed by the climate change. According to experts, ,Mumbai will witness two major climate challenges ? the rise in temperature and extreme rain events. It will face sea rise of 0.1 metres to 0.3 metres in the next 30 years.
The objective of the action plan is to provide climate resilience, mitigation and adaptation strategies. It has six focus areas ? sustainable waste management, urban greening and biodiversity, urban flooding and water resource management, building energy efficiency, air quality and sustainable mobility.
