PM Narendra Modi will address the 2nd National Youth Parliament Festival (2021) on January 12 through video conferencing. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju will also be present in the virtual event.

- The main aim of the National Youth Parliament Festival 2021 is to address the voices of the youth of 18 to 25 years of age, who vote and will start their careers in the upcoming years, including public services.
- The National Youth Parliament Festival is in line with the prime minister’s idea, which he gave during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address on December 31, 2017.
- The first such festival was organized from 12 January to 27 February 2019. The theme of the festival was “Be the Voice of New India and Find solutions and Contribute to Policy.
- The 2nd National Youth Parliament Festival was virtually launched on 23rd December 2020.
- As per the Prime Minister Office’s (PMO) official statement, more than 2.34 lakh youths from various parts of the country participated in the first stage of the festival.
- The first stage of the youth festival was followed by virtual State Youth Parliaments from 1st to 5th January 2021.
- The finals are being held on January 11, 2021, in the Central Hall of Parliament.
- 29 national winners have got an opportunity to speak before a national jury which includes MPs Parvesh Verma and Roopa Ganguly and journalist & the editor of Hindutva weekly Organiser, Prafulla Ketkar.
Every year, January 12 to 16 is celebrated as the National Youth Festival. January 12 is also the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and is celebrated as the National Youth Day.
