Israel’s Defense Ministry and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) have concluded a two-year project to enhance the ORON aircraft with advanced intelligence-gathering technology. The ORON aircraft, an Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, is the result of collaboration between the Israeli Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D), the Israel Air Force, IDF Intelligence unit’s naval arm, and IAI. Built on the Gulfstream G550 executive jet base, the aircraft boasts diverse sensors, AI-driven data systems, and imaging capabilities, enabling real-time comprehensive intelligence gathering for various scenarios, including ground force deployment.
