Romani people

Romani people, also known as Roma, is a group of Indo-Aryan people who may have originated from the northern Indian subcontinent. They have settled in Europe, especially Central, Eastern and Southern Europe as well as Western Asia.
Recently, a new law was enacted in Czech Republic to compensate women who were sterilized without consent between 1966 and 2012. The government had announced a compensation of around 14,000 USD for these women. Majority of these victims are Roma. However, there lack accurate data providing the specific number of affected women. The government has not yet announced when the compensation process will commence.
