?SUJALAM? campaign

SUJALAM is a 100-days campaign launched by the Jal Shakti Ministry as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav? celebrations. It aims to create more Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus villages by promoting village-level waste water management activities.
The campaign will involve the creation of 1 million Soak-pits and promotion of other grey water management activities. Apart from undertaking infrastructure projects, the campaign will also help in the sustainable management of waterbodies in villages and their outskirts to enable their revival. It will also seek to boost the momentum of the Swachh Bharat Mission through community participation and increasing awareness about the ODF-plus activities.
