In October 2024, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) in India, in partnership with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), launched a pioneering initiative to provide Gram Panchayats with daily weather forecasts for a five-day period.
