“Yuktdhara” Geospatial Planning Portal

Yuktdhara geospatial planning portal was launched by the Indian Government to facilitate geospatial planning of new MGNREGA assets using remote sensing and geographic information system-based data. It will act as the repository of geotags created under various central government programmes in rural areas. These programmes include MGNREGA, Integrated Watershed Management Programme, Per Drop More Drop Programme and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.
The word “yukt” is derived from “Yojanam”, which means “planning” and “Dhara” which means “flow”. It aims to support decentralized decision-making by providing for a government-to-government service. The new portal will improve grassroot-level planning and long-term monitoring of assets.
