As of 5 July 2026, Delhi’s Mission Kayakalp is nearing completion to upgrade physical, water, sanitation, laboratory and inclusive facilities in government schools across multiple districts.
Scope of Upgrades
- Physical infrastructure: roof repairs, waterproofing, building and sewer line repairs, electrical upgrades.
- Sanitation & water: toilet renovation, installation of RO plants and water coolers.
- Academic facilities: modernisation of science laboratories and library upgrades.
- Inclusive facilities: sensory parks and provisions for children with special needs.
- Green measures: rainwater harvesting and plantation drives for campus greening.
Implementation & Stakeholders
- Lead agencies: Delhi Education Department (Directorate of Education) and district administrations.
- Partnership model: collaboration with CSR initiatives, social organisations, market associations and local communities.
- Geographic coverage: works reported completed or underway in North, South, West, North‑East and Outer North districts (status as on 5–6 July 2026).
District-wise Select Works (verified)
- North Delhi: sensory park renovated (~₹16.20 lakh); physics lab modernised (Roop Nagar).
- South Delhi: Ramanujan Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya works ~₹48.73 lakh; Qutub Mehrauli ~₹98.58 lakh.
- West Delhi: Mohan Garden and Janakpuri — roof waterproofing, rainwater harvesting, sewer improvements.
- North‑East Delhi: Gokalpur and Shahdara — renovated toilets, new water coolers, library upgrades.
