Amagarh Fort
Anagarh Fort is a fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The fort, in its present form, was developed in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II the founder of Jaipur. It is believed that the fort was in place before Jai Singhs regime. It was built by a Meena Sardar from Nadla gotra. The Meena community controlled large parts of Rajasthan until 1100 AD.
The Anagarh Fort is currently at the centre of a conflict between the tribal Meena community and local Hindu factions. Meenas are classified as scheduled tribe in Rajasthan. The fort consists of several of the tribes deities.
