e-AMRIT Portal

At the COP26 Summit in Glasgow, India launched an electric vehicle recognition web portal called e-Amrit.

Accelerated e-Mobility Revolution for India’s Transportation is what e-Amrit stands for. NITI Aayog in collaboration with the UK government has developed this portal. It has been developed under the part of the India-UK Joint Roadmap 2030.

Aim of e-Amrit portal

This portal aims to raise awareness of electric vehicles and was developed as a one-stop site that provides information related to the introduction of electric vehicles in India. One can access the web portal from a variety of devices such as mobile phones, PCs, and tablets. NITI Aayog is working towards adding more innovative tools as well as features to make the portal more user-friendly and interactive.

Features of the portal

The portal, provides access to information about electric vehicles, provides insights into electric vehicle technology, electric vehicle types, insurance options, and financing opportunities so that vehicle users can turn to electric vehicles. The purpose is to help one switch as well as launch electric vehicles or related businesses by providing insights into key state and central government initiatives. It evaluates the electric vehicles benefits using uniquely designed tools, determine the user savings of electric vehicles compared to gasoline and diesel vehicles. It also shows all information about the Indian electric vehicle market and industry.

The portal looks to raise awareness of electric vehicles and accelerate government initiatives to raise consumer awareness of the benefits of introducing electric vehicles. The portal also aims to drive change and is impacting the adoption of electric vehicles for millions of users and stakeholders. The portal is designed to meet the needs of future electric vehicle users, academia, early electric vehicle users, industry, government, businesses and research communities. India has implemented various initiatives to accelerate the decarbonisation of transportation and increase the introduction of electric vehicles in the country.
