Glyphosate is an herbicide used to remove weeds in farms. It is one of the most widely used herbicide against invasive species. It is being banned by several countries across the world for its potential link to cancer in humans as well as its role in killing off important insects like bees. Telangana government has recently imposed a blanket ban on glyphosate, which is used in cotton farms to kill weeds. Anyone involved in its manufacturing and selling will be punished under the Insecticides Act, 1968.
