Andhra Pradesh will host the Google Cloud India AI Hub in Visakhapatnam, with foundation stone laying on 28 April 2026. The project involves an investment of about $15 billion, or ₹1.35 lakh crore, and forms part of Google’s India investment plan for 2026 to 2030.
Project Location and Scale
The AI data centre will come up in Tharluvada, Adavivaram and Rambilli in Visakhapatnam district. The planned land area is nearly 600 to 601.4 acres, and the proposed capacity is 1 gigawatt.
Partners and Infrastructure
Google is partnering with AdaniConneX and Airtel Nxtra for the development of the data centre campuses and supporting infrastructure. The project includes cloud computing facilities, power systems and digital connectivity infrastructure.
Investment and Industrial Context
The project is among the largest foreign direct investment commitments in India. It is linked to the expansion of data centre capacity, cloud services and artificial intelligence infrastructure in the country.
Technology and Energy Features
The project is planned to use green power and support India’s net-zero target by 2031. Andhra Pradesh has also set a long-term target of 6.5 GW for a multi-gigawatt digital infrastructure ecosystem.

Visakhapatnam is being developed as an AI and cloud computing hub in Asia. The inauguration target for the data centre is 28 September 2028.
