Government e Marketplace

Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is an e-commerce portal that enables the online procurement of goods and services required by various government departments, organizations and PSUs. It aims to increase the transparency, effectiveness and speed of the public procurement process. The portal provides tools for e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to get better market price.
The GeM recently won the “Best Use of Digital Technology” category at the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards 2021 (CIPS Awards). It was selected for other categories for these awards like ‘Public Procurement Project of the Year’ and ‘Best Initiative to Build a Diverse Supply Base’.
