Mindoro Fanged Frog

Mindoro Fanged Frog (Limnonectes beloncioi) is a newly identified species of frog found in Mindoro Island in the Central Philippines. Due to its similarity with the physical features of a frog called the Acanth’s fanged frog, it was mistaken to be the same species. Though they are related, genetic analysis has revealed these frogs’ differences. It is estimated that they have been separated from each other for around 2-6 million years.
