Mission Shakti

Mission Shakti programme was adopted by the Odisha government in 2001 to empower women in the state. It is a self-help mission that provides credits and market linkage to women SHGs. It seeks to achieve economic independence and social empowerment of women.
The department of Mission Shakti is partnering with the transport department to explore livelihood opportunities for its registered women SHGs. In the first phase, the state government is planning to engage these SHGs in the maintenance of the bus stands and terminals managed by the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation.
