PAIMANA Portal Launched for Infrastructure Monitoring

PAIMANA Portal Launched for Infrastructure Monitoring

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has introduced PAIMANA, a new web-based monitoring system for tracking ongoing Central Sector infrastructure projects costing ₹150 crore and above. The platform replaces the earlier OCMS-2006 system and is designed to improve data accuracy, reduce manual entry, and support faster analytical reporting for national infrastructure projects.

What PAIMANA Does

PAIMANA stands for Project Assessment Infrastructure Monitoring and Analytics for Nation-Building. It functions as a central repository for project-level monitoring and analysis. The portal generates web-based flash reports and supports one-click access to project status updates. These reports have been available from July 2025 onwards.

Integration With IPMP

The portal follows the principle of One Data One Entry and is integrated with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade’s Integrated Project Monitoring Portal through Application Programming Interfaces. This allows data reported by Central Ministries, Departments and implementing agencies to flow automatically into PAIMANA. The integration has reduced manual work , especially for projects under the ministries of Road Transport and Highways, Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Coal.

Project Coverage and Scale

As of December 2025, PAIMANA tracks 1,392 projects across 17 Central Ministries and Departments. These projects have an original cost of ₹29.68 lakh crore and cumulative expenditure of ₹19.01 lakh crore. The monitored sectors include roads, power, civil aviation, petroleum, coal, railways, steel, water resources, telecommunications, ports, housing, health, higher education, mines, and industry promotion. The Department of Sports and the Ministry of Labour and Employment have also been onboarded recently.

Monitoring and Future Expansion

The portal is intended to strengthen evidence-based monitoring of large infrastructure projects through regular updates, monthly review meetings and improved analytics. Further enhancements are planned to simplify input forms, improve reporting tools and onboard more stakeholders and projects.
