Project Himank

Project HIMANK is being executed by the Border Road Organisation in Ladakh since August 1985. Under this project, roads and other infrastructure are being developed in Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control. These include motorable roads across the Khardung La, Tanglang La and Chang La passes.
Recently, the road construction agency completed the construction of the world?s highest motorable road at the height of 19,300 feet at Umling La Pass in Eastern Ladakh. The road connects key towns in the Chumar sector, providing alternate direct route connecting Chisumle and Demchok from Leh.
