Project KIRAN

Project KIRAN was launched in Odisha for providing assistance to women prisoners in the state. It uses holistic approach by roping in the community to provide assistance to women inmates.
It is a joint initiative of the Directorate of Prisons and Correctional Services and an NGO. The collaborative effort aims to provide women inmates with services like counselling on mental health, free legal assistance, skill development, livelihood support and rehabilitation. It also provides inmates the access to a mini library, newspapers and magazines to the women inmates in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack jails.
