Scheme for Integrated Textile Park was launched as part of the 11th five year plan to create new textile parks of international standards at areas showing potential for growth. Launched in July 2005, it provides world-class infrastructure facilities and buildings for supporting activities like textiles engineering, accessories and packaging. It is a demand-driven scheme wherein entrepreneurs can send their proposals to the government after satifisifying the requirements.
Under this scheme, 24 greenfield parks have been completed. They are increasing investment, employment opportunities and export growth. The scheme has also helped inculcate required skilling for these parks to improve the efficiency of the workforce.
