State Support Programme for Strengthening Road Safety

State Support Programme for Strengthening Road Safety is set to be unveiled by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to help achieve the vision of “Zero road fatalities on Indian roads”. The new Rs.7,270 crore centrally sponsored programme will be implemented for six years.
The nationwide programme will be implemented in 14 states, which account for 85 per cent of the total road fatalities in India. These states are Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Telangana, West Bengal, Odisha, Haryana and Assam.
