STQC Lab Automation Portal SATYA Launched

STQC Lab Automation Portal SATYA Launched

India has launched the STQC Lab Automation Portal, SATYA, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to digitise certification and quality assurance services. The portal is designed to make testing, certification, and related public services faster, more transparent, and easier to access for citizens, industry, startups, MSMEs, and government departments.

What SATYA Portal Does

The SATYA portal brings STQC services onto a single integrated digital platform. It supports end-to-end automation of lab-related processes and aims to reduce manual intervention. This is expected to improve service predictability, shorten turnaround time, and strengthen user confidence in certification outcomes.

Role of STQC in Digital Governance

The Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification Directorate is responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and reliability of electronic and IT products and services in India. Its certification framework is important for public procurement, technology deployment, and trust in digital systems. The new portal modernises this function through a user-friendly digital interface.

Benefits for Industry and Startups

  • Faster processing of certification requests.
  • Lower procedural burden for startups and MSMEs.
  • Improved access to compliant and secure product certification.
  • Greater transparency in service delivery.

Policy Significance

The initiative aligns with Digital India, Minimum Government – Maximum Governance, and Ease of Doing Business. It also supports cybersecurity, data protection, and product quality, which are key to building a trusted digital ecosystem. The portal is expected to help India strengthen its position as a technology and manufacturing hub.
