Vaccine Maitri

Vaccine Maitri (Vaccine Friendship) initiative is the Indian Government’s diplomatic initiative launched in the beginning of this year to provide indigenously developed COVID-19 vaccines to low-income and developing countries across the world. The beneficiaries of this initiative include Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Morocco, South Africa, Afghanistan etc.
The Indian Government had recently announced that it will be resuming the vaccine exports from October. The Vaccine Maitri was earlier halted by the government in April as India faced shortage of vaccines and rising number of COVID-19 cases.
