Yellow Gadsden Flag

Yellow Gadsden Flag consists of a recoiled rattlesnake on a yellow field with the text “Don’t Tread On Me”. It was flown by many protestors who barged into the US Capitol on Jan 6. In recent times, it is often seen alongside white-supremacist flags. However, it is also used to represent the US Marine Corps, the US Navy and others. Christopher Gadsden, a slave owner and trader, created this flag in 1775. He built Gadsden’s Wharf, a major slave-trading site through which as many as 40% of enslaved Africans were brought into the US.
