SHe-Box Portal for Workplace Harassment Redressal

SHe-Box Portal for Workplace Harassment Redressal

The Sexual Harassment Electronic Box (SHe-Box) Portal is a digital platform launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to strengthen implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. It supports registration, monitoring and compliance related to Internal Committees and Local Committees across public and private workplaces.

Launch and Purpose

The portal was launched on 29 August 2024 as part of digital governance efforts. Its main aim is to improve enforcement of the PoSH Act, 2013, and make workplace redressal mechanisms more accessible and transparent. It also helps in tracking whether workplaces have constituted Internal Committees as required under Section 4 of the Act.

Coverage and Onboarding

As of 27 March 2026, more than 161,000 workplaces with over 10 employees have been onboarded on the portal.

  • Over 68,460 Internal Committees have been updated by onboarded workplaces.
  • Details of 777 Local Committees at district level are available on the portal.
  • The portal is being used for both public and private sector compliance monitoring.

Supreme Court Directions and Compliance

The Supreme Court, in the matter of Aureliano Fernandes vs. State of Goa and Others, issued directions on 3 December 2024, 12 August 2025 and 6 January 2026. These orders required district officers to survey public and private organisations for Internal Committees and ensure that the collected data is uploaded on the SHe-Box Portal. The exercise is being supported by labour commissioners at district and state levels to improve compliance.

Access, Outreach and Institutional Support

The portal has been integrated with the Mission Shakti mobile application and is available on Android and iOS devices. It supports 23 languages, improving access for women in remote and informal workplaces. The Ministry has also held hybrid training sessions, stakeholder meetings and awareness campaigns. It has engaged with ministries, regulators and industry bodies to improve onboarding and compliance. The portal also hosts FAQs, handbooks, audio-visual material and other IEC resources for public use.
