On 28 June 2026 the government declared DIKSHA as the country’s “One Nation, One Digital Platform” for school education. Launched in 2017 by NCERT–CIET under the Ministry of Education’s PM e-Vidya initiative, DIKSHA is open-source.

- Languages: Resources in 135 languages (128 Indian, 7 foreign).
- Media-rich resources: 2D/3D animations, augmented reality, simulations and over 614 virtual laboratories.
- Energised Textbooks: QR-coded NCERT textbooks linking videos, interactive content and teacher guides; 7,687 Energised Textbooks available.

- Users: 2.25 crore registered users and about 3 lakh daily active users (data as of 27 June 2026).
- Content volume: 3.67 lakh electronic contents; 12.79 crore certificates issued across 347 courses.
- State adoption: Implemented by education boards in almost all states and Union Territories with local customisation.

- Inclusive formats: DAISY, text-to-speech and Indian Sign Language videos for learners with disabilities.
- Teacher development: Integrated Learning Management System delivering NISHTHA and state-specific training with certification.
- Offline capability: Downloadable content and preloaded material on smart classroom boards.
Architecture & governance
- Federated architecture: Participating states and institutions can independently upload and manage content; quality validation by CIET–NCERT.
- Open-source: Codebase available for localisation and reuse.
