India’s Innovation Ecosystem
The conclave brought into light AIM’s role in expanding innovation at the grassroots level. Nearly 50,000 Atal Tinkering Labs now support school-level innovation across almost every district. AIM-supported incubators have helped create over 5,000 startups and more than 50,000 jobs. The wider startup ecosystem has grown from about 350 startups to over 2 lakh startups, reflecting a major shift towards entrepreneurship and technology-led growth.
Focus on Deep-Tech and Productivity
Speakers stressed that India’s long-term growth will depend on productivity gains, startup-led innovation, and deep-tech capability. Incubators were described as strategic national infrastructure for technology commercialisation, intellectual property support, and startup scale-up. Discussions also covered artificial intelligence, ethical AI integration, venture capital, long-term capital, and the need for original innovation to strengthen India’s global competitiveness.
Institutional Collaboration and Future Goals
The conclave underlined collaboration among government, industry, academia, CSR institutions, and investors. It also explored incubators as Technology Transfer Organisations that can connect research institutions with markets. The event reinforced AIM’s role as an umbrella platform for building a high-quality, outcomes-driven incubation ecosystem and accelerating India’s progress towards Viksit Bharat @2047.
