SAMRIDH Programme Boosts Startup Acceleration

SAMRIDH Programme Boosts Startup Acceleration

The Startup Accelerator of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development, and Growth (SAMRIDH) is designed to support startup growth through a network of accelerators in sectors such as health-tech, ed-tech, agri-tech, consumer-tech, fintech, Software as a Service (SaaS) and sustainability. The programme aims to accelerate around 300 startups and strengthen the wider innovation ecosystem through structured mentoring, funding support and performance monitoring.

SAMRIDH Programme Overview

SAMRIDH is implemented under the MeitY Start-up Hub and seeks to build a stronger startup pipeline by working through existing and upcoming accelerators. The programme focuses on product development, market readiness and scale-up support for promising startups. It is part of the broader Digital India innovation framework.

Accelerator Selection and Coverage

A total of 186 accelerators submitted Expressions of Interest under the programme. From these, 43 top accelerators were selected across 16 states. The selection reflects a geographically distributed support structure for startups. The programme covers multiple high-growth sectors, making it relevant for technology-led entrepreneurship and sector-specific innovation.

Funding and Support Structure

Under SAMRIDH, selected accelerators receive financial support of ₹2 lakh per startup. In addition, startups can receive matching funding of up to ₹40 lakh, subject to programme guidelines. This model is intended to improve access to early-stage capital and encourage private participation in startup growth. The support is linked to acceleration outcomes rather than only seed funding.

Monitoring, Outcomes and Significance

The MeitY Start-up Hub under Digital India Corporation monitors selected accelerators using both quantitative and qualitative parameters. It also tracks annual revenue and valuation growth of supported startups. So far, 373 startups have been selected and accelerated, and 241 have secured matching funding. The programme is for strengthening India’s startup ecosystem, improving accelerator quality and linking public support with measurable performance.
