Delhi has launched CM Shri Schools, a new AI-driven education model aimed at modernising government schooling and aligning it with the National Education Policy. One school was inaugurated in Sarojini Nagar, while foundation stones were laid for 75 such schools across the Capital. The initiative seeks to provide technology-enabled, skill-based and globally competitive education within the public school system.
AI-Driven School Model
CM Shri Schools are being developed as Centres of Excellence. They will feature AI-enabled smart classrooms, interactive panels, digital learning content and advanced teaching tools. The model is designed to support personalised learning based on each student’s pace and ability. The schools are intended to improve access to quality education for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
Academic and Competitive Exam Support
A dedicated portal will help students prepare for competitive examinations such as JEE, NEET, CUET, CLAT and NDA. The portal will include online tests and progress tracking. The schools will also have digitised libraries, language labs and support for multilingual education. These facilities are expected to strengthen academic performance and prepare students for higher education and professional pathways.
Skill Development and Holistic Growth
The schools will include multi-sectoral skill labs focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, design and mechatronics. ICT labs will promote coding, digital literacy and computational thinking. Career guidance, counselling, mental well-being support and moral education will also be part of the model. Industry-linked internships, play-based learning and personality development activities are planned to make education more practical and holistic.
Citywide Digital Education Expansion
Delhi has also announced a wider expansion of digital infrastructure in government schools. Thousands of classrooms are to be converted into AI-enabled smart classrooms by March 31, 2026. Hundreds of ICT labs, digital libraries and language labs are being introduced across the city. The initiative aims to bring government schools closer to private-school standards and create future-ready students.
