India finished on top of the medal table at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship in New Delhi 2026, held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. The hosts won 94 medals in total, including 51 gold, 23 silver and 20 bronze. India added six gold, three silver and four bronze on the final day to seal a dominant finish in continental shooting.
Final Medal Tally
India’s overall performance reflected depth across senior and junior events. The team led the standings comfortably and collected medals in pistol and rifle disciplines. The final-day haul strengthened India’s position as the most successful nation at the championship.
25m Pistol Events
In the 25m Center Fire Pistol event, Amanpreet Singh won gold with 589-24x. Gurpreet Singh took silver with 584-20x, while Ankur Goel secured bronze with 570-11x. The same trio also won the team gold. In the 25m Pistol Junior event, Suraj Sharma won gold with 585-25x. Mukesh Nelavalli claimed silver with 582-21x, and Abhinav Deshwal took bronze with 573-17x. The Indian junior trio also won the team gold.
50m Rifle Prone Results
In the 50m Rifle Prone Women Senior event, Sift Kaur Samra won silver with 623.2, while Tejaswani Sawant secured bronze. Kazakhstan’s Yelizaveta Bezrukova won gold. Sift, Tejaswani and Manini Kaushik combined for the team gold. In the junior section, Dhavalika Devi Nyamurus won bronze with 614.1. Tomiris Amanova and Darya Ponomarenko of Kazakhstan won gold and silver. Prachi Gaikwad, Anuskha Thokur and Devi won the team gold for India.
Significance For Indian Shooting
The result underlined India’s strength in both individual and team shooting events. It also brought into light strong performances from experienced shooters and emerging junior talent, signalling depth ahead of future Asian and global competitions.
