INS Chilka Passing Out Parade 2025

The Passing Out Parade of the 02/25 batch at INS Chilka marked the successful completion of 16 weeks of ab-initio training by 2,172 trainees. The ceremony reflected the transition of young recruits into disciplined naval and coast guard personnel ready for operational service. The batch included Agniveers, Senior Secondary Recruits, sports entry personnel of the Indian Navy, and Naviks of the Indian Coast Guard.

Batch Composition and Training

  • A total of 2,172 trainees passed out after completing initial naval training.
  • The batch included 2,103 Agniveers, including 113 women Agniveers.
  • It also comprised 270 Senior Secondary Recruits for Medical Assistants, 44 sports entry personnel, and 295 Naviks of the Indian Coast Guard.
  • The parade brought into light the standards of drill, discipline, and professionalism achieved during training.

Review of the Parade

  • Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena reviewed the parade as the Chief Guest.
  • Commodore B. Deepak Aneel served as the Conducting Officer.
  • The post-sunset ceremonial setting symbolised the transformation of trainees into combat-ready personnel.
  • Senior officers, veterans, sports personalities, dignitaries, and family members attended the event.

Women Participation and Naval Values

  • The presence of women Agniveers alongside male trainees underlined the Navy’s emphasis on inclusivity and gender neutrality.
  • The trainees were urged to strengthen professional skills and remain technologically adept.
  • The Navy’s core values of Duty, Honour and Courage were stressed during the address.
  • The contribution of parents and the training team at INS Chilka was also acknowledged.

Awards, Trophies and Magazine Launch

  • Sashi B. Kenchavagol and Jatin Mishra received top honours for Best Agniveer categories.
  • Anita Yadav won the Gen Bipin Rawat Rolling Trophy for Best Woman Agniveer.
  • Keshav Suryavanshi and Sonendra were named Best Navik in their respective branches.
  • The second edition of Ankur 2025, the bilingual trainees’ magazine, was also revealed.
