The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will organise the nationwide Nari Shakti Vandan Run on 17 and 18 April 2026 across seven major cities. The event is part of efforts to promote women-led development, public participation and the vision of Viksit Bharat. It will be held under the theme #NariShaktiVandan and is designed to mobilise women from different social and professional backgrounds.
Event Schedule and Cities
- The run will be held in Delhi, Cuttack, Patna, Mumbai, Indore, Bengaluru and Jaipur.
- Patna and Jaipur will host the event on 17 April 2026.
- Delhi, Cuttack, Mumbai, Indore and Bengaluru will host it on 18 April 2026.
- The run will cover a distance of around 2 to 3 kilometres at prominent public locations.
Programme Format
- The programme will begin early in the morning with participant registration.
- An inauguration session will include felicitation of dignitaries, a chief guest address and the administration of the Nari Shakti pledge.
- The event will conclude with certificate distribution to participants.
Participation and Outreach
- The initiative aims to involve students, professionals, entrepreneurs, sportspersons and civil society members.
- Participation is being facilitated through MY Bharat, the National Service Scheme, the Sports Authority of India and partner organisations.
- The run seeks to strengthen awareness of women’s role in public life and democratic participation.
Parliament Session Linkage
- The event is being organised alongside the special session of Parliament from 16 to 18 April 2026.
- During this session, discussions related to women’s representation and delimitation are expected.
- The initiative reflects the broader focus on women empowerment and inclusive representation in governance.
