National Agriculture Fair Planned in Raisen

National Agriculture Fair Planned in Raisen

A national-level Advanced Agriculture Festival-Exhibition and Training programme will be held at Dussehra Ground in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, from 11 to 13 April 2026. The event aims to connect farmers with the full chain of modern agriculture, from laboratory to field and from seed to market. It is being positioned as a major platform for technology transfer, farmer training, and regional agricultural planning.

Event Objectives

The three-day fair will focus on improving farm productivity, reducing costs, and strengthening market access. It will bring together farmers, experts, institutions, and agri-business stakeholders on one campus. The programme is designed to showcase practical solutions for immediate adoption by farmers.

Major Participants and Inaugural Sessions

The inaugural session will feature the Union Defence Minister, while the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh will also attend. The closing session on 13 April will include the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways. A regional agriculture roadmap will be released during the concluding event for Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and nearby agro-climatic zones.

Exhibitions, Demos, and Training

Around 300 stalls are expected to display:

  • Improved seeds, fertilisers, and pesticides.
  • Drones, modern machinery, and digital agriculture tools.
  • Micro irrigation, fertigation, and precision farming systems.
  • Animal husbandry, fisheries, food processing, and MSME support.
  • ICAR, State Agricultural Universities, KVKs, banks, insurance firms, FPOs, start-ups, and NAFED.

Training sessions will cover soil health, natural farming, integrated nutrient management, pest control, crop insurance, hydroponics, vertical farming, and AI-based digital agriculture. Live demonstrations will include drone spraying, reaper-binder, happy seeder, super seeder, baler, and rotavator operations.

Roadmap for Regional Agriculture

The final roadmap will set targets for crop diversification, water conservation, micro irrigation expansion, integrated farming, dairy, fisheries, processing units, and stronger market linkages. It will also emphasise affordable credit, digital services, and value-chain development to raise farmer incomes and promote sustainable agriculture in the region.
