Naya Savera Scheme

The Naya Savera scheme, formerly known as the Free Coaching and Allied Scheme, is a central sector initiative implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.   • State Public Service Commissions (SPSC) examinations.
  • Banking, Insurance, and Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) recruitment examinations.
  • Entrance examinations for technical and professional courses such as Engineering (JEE), Medicine (NEET), Law (CLAT), and Management (CAT).

Eligibility Criteria

To avail of the benefits under Naya Savera, applicants must fulfill specific socio-economic and academic requirements:

  • Minority Status: Candidates must belong to one of the six notified minority communities.
  • Income Ceiling: The annual income of the candidate’s family from all sources must not exceed INR 6 lakh per annum.
  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have completed the minimum educational qualifications prescribed for the specific competitive examination they intend to take.
  • Exclusion: The benefit of the scheme can be availed of by a candidate only twice. The ministry ensures that the candidate has not availed of similar benefits from any other central or state government scheme for the same examination.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs implements the scheme through empanelled Coaching Institutions. These institutions are selected based on their reputation, track record, and infrastructure.

  • Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): The Ministry provides financial assistance directly to the empanelled coaching institutions for the coaching fees of the students.
  • Stipend Provision: A monthly stipend is provided to the students to cover living expenses, boarding, and lodging, provided they meet the minimum attendance requirements.
