NSTFDC Marks 25 Years of Tribal Development

The National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) will celebrate its 25th Foundation Day on 10 April 2026 in New Delhi. The Public Sector Undertaking, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, was established in 2001 as an apex institution for the economic development of Scheduled Tribes. It supports livelihood generation through concessional financial assistance routed via State Channelising Agencies for income-generating activities.

About NSTFDC

NSTFDC works to improve the economic condition of Scheduled Tribe communities across India. It provides financial support for self-employment and micro-enterprise activities. Its schemes aim to promote income generation, skill use, and entrepreneurship among tribal beneficiaries. The corporation functions as a key instrument for inclusive tribal development.

Foundation Day Celebration

The event will be held at Vishwa Yuva Kendra, New Delhi. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram will attend as Chief Guest. Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uikey and Secretary Ranjana Chopra will also be present. Former CMDs, senior officials, and other dignitaries are expected to attend the programme.

Recognition of Tribal Entrepreneurs

As part of the celebration, NSTFDC will felicitate successful Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs from different parts of India. These beneficiaries have built sustainable enterprises with support under NSTFDC schemes. Their ventures cover traditional cuisine, healthcare services, poultry, dairy, handicrafts, fisheries, retail trade, tailoring, and other sectors. The recognition marks the role of financial assistance in creating viable tribal livelihoods.

Cultural Significance

The celebration will also include tribal dances and a street play. These cultural performances will reflect the heritage and traditions of tribal communities. The event marks 25 years of NSTFDC’s work in tribal empowerment, entrepreneurship promotion, and inclusive growth.
