PANKHUDI Portal for Women and Child Development

PANKHUDI Portal for Women and Child Development

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched PANKHUDI, a single-window digital platform to enable structured and transparent participation by individuals, NGOs, corporates and NRIs in women and child development initiatives. The portal is designed to support only non-cash contributions and to connect contributors with requirements raised by grassroots institutions under State and Union Territory governments.

Purpose of the Portal

PANKHUDI provides an end-to-end digital workflow for registration, proposal submission and tracking of contributions. It is intended to improve coordination between donors and implementing institutions working in the Ministry’s three missions. The platform also helps identify needs at the field level and match them with suitable support.

Key Focus Areas

The portal supports priority thematic areas such as:

  • Nutrition.
  • Health.
  • Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
  • Child protection.
  • Women’s empowerment.

It aligns contributions with flagship schemes including Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti. This is meant to promote convergence among government bodies and partner organisations.

Participation and Outreach

As on 03 February 2026, 38 contributors had registered on the portal. The Ministry has also undertaken capacity-building and outreach activities. These include training and handholding sessions for State and District functionaries, virtual meetings with senior State government officials, and inclusion of a Pankhudi module in major courses conducted by the Savitri Bai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development.

Exam Relevance

PANKHUDI reflects the growing use of digital platforms for public participation in social sector governance. It is relevant for questions on women and child welfare schemes, digital governance, convergence in welfare delivery and public-private collaboration in social development.
