Minority Affairs Chintan Shivir Held In Nalanda

The Ministry of Minority Affairs concluded a two-day National Chintan Shivir at Nalanda University, Rajgir, Bihar, to frame a policy-driven roadmap for minority welfare and socio-economic empowerment. The event brought together Union and State Ministers, senior officials, and domain experts. It focused on strengthening scheme delivery, improving coordination, and linking welfare measures with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Key Launches And Digital Initiatives

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju launched the NIGRANI App under the PMJVK scheme. The app is aimed at bridging infrastructural gaps and improving monitoring. He also launched the Haj Wrist Band and AI chatbots for the Ministry. These initiatives are part of a broader push towards digital governance, better service delivery, and improved user support for beneficiaries.

Scheme Performance And Welfare Focus

The Ministry brought into light major schemes and platforms, including PMJVK, PMVIKAS, NMDFC, the UMEED Central Portal, Haj modernisation, and other digital initiatives. These programmes are designed to support infrastructure creation, skill development, economic empowerment, and efficient administration. PMJVK remains central to improving basic facilities in minority-concentrated areas across the country.

Centre-State Coordination And Grassroots Delivery

Speakers underlined the need for stronger Centre-State coordination and greater stakeholder participation. The discussions stressed the role of public-private-community partnership and Jan Bhagidari in improving transparency and accountability. Officials said the Chintan Shivir would help translate policy intent into effective implementation at the grassroots level.

Focused Group Discussions On Five Themes

The Shivir included structured discussions on five themes:

  • Infrastructure Development under PMJVK.
  • Socio-economic Empowerment through PMVIKAS and NMDFC.
  • Waqf Management.
  • Haj Management.
  • Scholarship Schemes.

The sessions used guided questions, group exercises, and time-bound interaction to identify challenges and solutions. The insights will be used for future policy and programme improvements in minority welfare.
