Rural Internal Audit Portal AI-Enabled Governance

On 28 June 2026 the AI-enabled Rural Internal Audit Portal was launched at the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan, Pusa Campus, New Delhi. The portal provides end-to-end digital management of internal audits for the Ministry of Rural Development.

  • End-to-end Audit Lifecycle: Integrates audit planning, execution, reporting, compliance management, monitoring and analytics in a single platform.
  • AI Capabilities: Intelligent audit planning, risk assessment, identification of high‑risk entities, predictive analytics and pattern recognition.
  • Monitoring & Evidence: Real-time dashboards for audit progress, Action Taken Reports (ATRs), financial irregularities and compliance status; centralised audit repository.
  • Spatial & Access Tools: Geospatial Map View for audit coverage and role‑based access controls for auditors and administrators.
  • Audit Types Supported: Enables both risk‑based and compliance audits, replacing paper‑based and fragmented processes.

Deployment & Approval Timeline

  • Pilot: Chandauli District, Uttar Pradesh — 1 April 2025.
  • Core Modules: Fully operational by October 2025.
  • CGA Approval: Office Memorandum issued December 2025 providing in‑principle adoption across all Civil Ministries and Departments.
  • National Launch: Formal launch at Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan — 28 June 2026.

Institutional & Technical Ownership

  • Developers: Office of the Chief Controller of Accounts (CCA) in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
  • Target Domain: Internal audits within the Ministry of Rural Development; model available for other Civil Ministries per CGA OM.
