Western Sahara

Western Sahara is a disputed territory in North Africa. It is bordered by Morocco, Algeria, and Mauritania. The region has rich natural resources, including phosphates and fisheries. Its status remains unresolved since Spain withdrew in 1975. The Sahrawi people seek independence through the Polisario Front. International recognition is divided. The area faces significant humanitarian challenges. Tensions persist between Morocco and the Sahrawi.
