The state’s export value has risen by 29.12 per cent over the past four years, up from USD 6,193 million in 2020-21. Tamil Nadu has now moved ahead of Gujarat and Maharashtra to secure the top position in the country’s textile export sector.

Tamil Nadu accounted for 21.84 per cent of India’s total textile exports. India’s overall textile export value stood at USD 36,610 million, of which Tamil Nadu contributed USD 7,997.17 million. The state’s export growth reflects a steady rise in textile shipments over the last four years.
