India’s tourism sector received a new promotional resource with the release of the anthology Divya Bharat – A Window to the Soul of India in New Delhi. The book is designed as a year-round tourism companion covering all States and Union Territories. It combines information on destinations, culture, cuisine, textiles and handicrafts, and includes a monthly travel calendar and state-wise chapters. The publication aims to support informed travel and show both well-known and lesser-known attractions across the country.
Tourism Promotion Focus
The anthology is intended to present India’s tourism diversity in a structured format. It covers heritage, religious sites, local traditions and regional experiences. The aim is to encourage wider domestic travel and improve awareness of the tourism potential of different regions.
Role of Centre and States
The release underlined the importance of cooperation between the Centre and States in tourism development. States are seen as key to building infrastructure, improving connectivity and unlocking local tourism potential. The need to create world-class destinations was also emphasised.
Economic and Infrastructure Significance
Tourism was brought into light as a sector with strong economic potential. Efforts such as Dekho Apna Desh and Swadesh Darshan were noted as important initiatives for promotion and infrastructure development. The plan to develop 50 global destinations reflects a broader push to raise tourism standards and visitor experience.
