India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET)

The India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) was launched in May 2022 with the aim of strengthening and expanding the defence industrial cooperation and strategic technology partnership between India and the United States. The iCET was launched during the Quad Summit to boost the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Objective of iCET:

The primary objective of iCET is to create supply chains that support co-production and co-development between India and the United States. The initiative aims to increase links between the two countries’ start-up ecosystems and bring the two nations closer in cutting-edge technology.

Inaugural Dialogue:

During the inaugural dialogue for the iCET, India and the United States launched a programme to boost their strategic partnership. Both countries announced a set of initiatives to increase the depth and scope of bilateral cooperation in cutting-edge technology.
