Launched on 6 June 2022 under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the Jan Samarth Portal is a unified digital marketplace designed to democratize access to credit. By June 2026, the portal has processed over 54.10 lakh applications, facilitating digital in-principle approvals for 49.55 lakh beneficiaries worth ₹2,76,493.78 crore.

The portal replaces fragmented, ministry-specific application channels with a single-window digital ecosystem, bridging the gap between credit-seekers and formal financial institutions.

  • Stakeholders: Integrates 254 Member Lending Institutions (MLIs)—including Public/Private Banks, RRBs, and NBFCs—with central ministries and nodal agencies.
  • The 59-Minute Workflow:
    • Eligibility Check: Smart analytics match user profiles with suitable schemes.
    • Digital Verification: Uses real-time API integrations (UIDAI, CBDT, GSTN, Credit Bureaus) for authentication.

Sectoral Coverage

The platform hosts 16 credit-linked schemes across eight categories:

  • Agriculture: Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Agri Infrastructure Fund.
  • Business: PMMY (Mudra), PMEGP, PM SVANidhi.
  • Social & Infrastructure: Education loans (CSIS), Affordable Housing (EWS/LIG/MIG), and Renewable Energy (PM-Surya Ghar).
