Karnataka Launches Gruha Lakshmi Digital Portal

Karnataka has launched Gruha Lakshmi Digital Marketing, a state-backed online portal to promote products made by women entrepreneurs across the state. The initiative aims to improve economic independence, expand market access and support digital inclusion for women-led businesses. It is designed as an e-commerce marketplace that connects local producers, especially rural and small-scale entrepreneurs, with a wider customer base.

Portal Objective

The portal, accessible at gruhalakshmidigital.org, is intended to showcase women-made products to a global audience. It focuses on giving visibility to artisans and entrepreneurs who often face limited access to formal markets. The platform supports the broader goal of women’s empowerment through income generation and digital participation.

Key Features

  • The portal provides a dedicated marketplace for women entrepreneurs.
  • It marks diverse products from across Karnataka.
  • It supports verified entrepreneur profiles for buyer confidence.
  • It offers a customer-friendly interface for easy browsing and purchase.

Leadership and Institutional Support

The initiative has been launched under the guidance of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. It is being led by the Minister for Women and Child Development, Disabled and Senior-Citizens Empowerment. The Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation is also involved in its implementation, reflecting a coordinated state effort to strengthen women’s economic participation.

Registration Process for Entrepreneurs

Women entrepreneurs can register their products and profiles through three channels. They may register online through the portal. They may also contact the District In-charge Officer in their district. Alternatively, they can visit the Department Head Office for assistance. The initiative is expected to benefit artisans, self-help groups and small women-led enterprises by linking them to digital commerce.
