The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has launched the Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) Initiative under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme. The scheme is designed to improve market access, branding, digital marketing, e-commerce participation and export opportunities for micro and small enterprises through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
Purpose of the TEAM Initiative
The initiative aims to help micro and small enterprises join the digital commerce ecosystem. It supports onboarding on ONDC so that firms can sell through online networks. It also seeks to improve product visibility and strengthen market linkages.
Key Support Measures
- Creation of digital product catalogues for MSMEs.
- Improvement in branding and packaging standards.
- Training in e-commerce operations and digital marketing.
- Capacity building in logistics and online payments.
- Support for wider online sales and export readiness.
Role of NSIC and Workshops
The National Small Industries Corporation is the implementing agency for the scheme. It conducts TEAM workshops in different districts and venues across the country, including Maharashtra. These workshops provide awareness, hand-holding support and facilitation for onboarding on the TEAM portal and ONDC platform through service providers.
Significance for MSMEs
The initiative is intended to help small enterprises establish digital storefronts and access wider markets. It is also expected to improve participation of MSMEs in online trade, strengthen competitiveness and expand their reach beyond local markets.
