Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Odisha on 6 March 2026 will mark a major push to the cooperative, dairy and development sectors. The programme will include the dedication of a sulphuric acid plant at IFFCO’s Paradip unit, the launch of several cooperative initiatives in Bhubaneswar, and the inauguration and foundation laying of large-scale projects across departments. The initiatives are aligned with the government’s vision of Sahkar se Samriddhi, which seeks to strengthen cooperatives as engines of inclusive growth.
IFFCO Sulphuric Acid Plant
The Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP-III) at IFFCO’s Paradip facility will be dedicated to the nation. The plant is expected to support industrial operations and improve input availability for fertiliser production. Its commissioning adds to the industrial and agricultural value chain in Odisha.
Major Cooperative Sector Initiatives
Several cooperative measures will be launched at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar. These include:
- Release of the State Cooperative Policy.
- MoU for a school under Tribhuvan Cooperative University.
- MoU for revival of Badamba Sugar Industries.
- Dedication of 1,567 Common Service Centres operated by PACS/LAMPS.
- Virtual inauguration of need-based infrastructure for 141 PACS.
- Launch of the RCS Office Portal, D2C portal of National Cooperative Organics Limited, Coop Marque, and Savidya.
Dairy Development and Farmer Support
The programme will also feature initiatives linked to OMFED to strengthen the dairy sector. Registration certificates will be given to two milk producer cooperative societies. Grants will be released under the Chief Minister Kamdhenu Yojana. An MoU with the National Dairy Development Board will support upgradation of a Training and Demonstration Centre.
Project Inaugurations and Foundation Stones
A total of 69 projects worth ₹1,159.03 crore will be inaugurated. Foundation stones will be laid for 130 projects worth ₹2,116.06 crore. These projects cover multiple departments and reflect a broader development push in Odisha.
