Sanskaar Shaala was inaugurated in Guwahati as a value-based programme for children aged 4 to 14, while the Governor also attended the golden jubilee celebration of Guwahati Blind High School in Basistha. The two events brought into light the importance of moral education, inclusive learning and social responsibility in Assam’s educational landscape.
Sanskaar Shaala Inauguration
Sanskaar Shaala aims to introduce children to Indian values, family traditions and social responsibility from an early age. The programme was launched at the Lohia Lions Auditorium in Guwahati. The initiative was presented as an effort to preserve and promote India’s cultural and moral heritage.
Value-Based Education Focus
The Governor stressed that education should not be limited to knowledge and skills. He said values shape conduct, personality and social harmony. He referred to ancient Indian texts such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita as sources of timeless guidance on truth, duty and righteousness.
Golden Jubilee Of Guwahati Blind High School
At the 50th anniversary event of Guwahati Blind High School, the Governor congratulated students, teachers, staff and alumni. He said the progress of a society is reflected in the dignity and inclusion it provides to persons with disabilities. He noted that visually impaired students must be supported through education, accessibility and equal opportunity.
Inclusive Education And Support Measures
The Governor brought into light key disability-related measures, including the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Accessible India Campaign and Assam’s support under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. These include Braille books, assistive devices, scholarships and improved infrastructure. He also praised the school’s use of technology and its achievements in academics, sports and culture.
